 If you holiday in the foothills of the Nilgiri hills on the highway from Mysore to Ooty, you will find yourself approaching the Bandipur wildlife sanctuary in the south Indian state of Karnataka.

The months from April to October are the best time to visit Bandipur. The park is green with new growth after the monsoon rains and the deer, gaur and elephants can be seen grazing in the clearings in the forest.
