Rajasthan Desert Safari Holidays
Experience the magic of India's Thar desert in Rajasthan on an Incredible Rajasthan Desert Safari Holiday. You can choose between riding on horses or camels while riding past rolling sand dunes and a harsh but beautiful landscape.
What makes the Shekhawati Brigade Horse safari holidays memorable is the experience of riding purebred Indian horses such as Marwaris, Kathiawadis and Sindhis cross country, in the unspoilt terrain of Rajasthan where you also interact with nomads and camel caravans. Comfortable, luxurious camps and cultural entertainment with accompanying and invited folk musicians are part of this experience. This way you get to see the real India, the experience becomes even more memorable when shared with like-minded people with a love of horses, nature and the environment. The horse/camel safaris are organized with the base at Roop Niwas Palace, in Nawalgarh, Shekhawati, Rajasthan. In the stables at Roop Niwas there are many horses and camels. Various routes and itineraries have been surveyed thoroughly and worked out. Special care was taken to make these routes as varied and interesting as possible.
The planned itineraries are meant to give the guest an interesting experience with horses/camels along with a complete insight into the desert lifestyle of Rajasthan. To view the flora and fauna of Rajasthan and to interact with the local population by way of village visits. The Lunch halts and camping sights are in unique settings. Unlike routes of mountain trails, the routes pass semi desert terrain, forests, salt lakes, marshes and flat grasslands. This offers opportunities for the riders to trot, canter and even gallop. The camel routes move northwest from Shekhawati in unspoilt desert terrain of Rajasthan unexploited by any body as yet. The team has been carefully put together, and there is a well experienced, out rider, an Ex-Army cook and camp incharge, folk musicians, people trained to erect and wind up camps, and cross country jeep and truck drivers.
ROUTES & TRAILS
A Lot of effort and work has gone into surveying and planning the routes for the safaris. We have gone over each area in detail by jeep/horse/truck, and timed our progress and the obstacles. The Lunch halts are well chosen. Eventually we decided on these routes, which are the most interesting.
1. 7 Nights 8 Days horse Safari in Shekhawati (Nawalgarh to Salasar)
2. 7 Nights 8 Days horse Safari to Pushkar (Nawalgarh Shekhawati to Pushkar).
3. 6 Nights 7 Days horse Safari towards Bikaner.
4. 4 Nights 5 Days horse Safari to Samod (Nawalgarh Shekhawati to Churu).
5. 7 Nights 8 Days horse Safari to Samod (Nawalgarh Shekhawati to Churu).
For Camel Safari we have 2 to 14 days programs.
We have operated Safaris on these routes successfully. They offer the most varied countryside - semi-desert, bush country, mountains, salt lake etc. Day to day description of itineraries can be furnished on specific enquiry.
